The Retreat
Looking for a bolthole to write your next book or simply keen to experience a weekend getaway or longer stay in a Scandi-bush cottage surrounded by pristine bush, then The Retreat is for you. Our bush cottage boasts a beautifully decorated interior, plastered with an on-trend Scandi-bush matte black finish with large glass sliding doors ensuring an 'at one with nature' experience.
The Retreat comprises a queen-size bed, dining area (doubling up as a work or socialising space) a fully equipped kitchen with a two-plate stove, fridge and freezer and a bathroom with a shower. The cottage has high-speed WIFI. The Retreat is exquisitely decorated in a multitude of greens, soft encompassing pure cotton linens and interesting art pieces.
A delightful exterior will beckon you to sit and relax on the veranda at the table. Enjoy the charm of The Zen Zone plunge pool in summer with its “afdak”, comfortable lounger and open-to-the-call-of-the-wild outside shower, warm your feet by the fire at the braai/fire pit area in winter, and revel in the sound of giraffe, wildebeest, zebra or nyala as they rustle in the surrounding bush in the dark of night to the occasional call of lions from nearby Balule.
Fully off the grid, The Retreat has the added advantage of being just a few minutes from our main gate and therefore within easy access of the R40 arterial road for early morning excursions to any of the world-renowned local tourist attractions.
