Unlike many reserves in the area, and bearing in mind that Bushveld Bivouac is safe for walking and cycling and we have a network of beautiful walking trails and gravel roads for mountain biking.

Guided and birding walks
Walks on the reserve with a fully qualified professional guide can be arranged but must be booked when reserving your stay and paid in advance.
Spa treatments
Hoedspruit and the surrounding area offer several world-class spas. Treatments can also be arranged in the privacy of your own deck should you prefer. Treatments are dependent on availability & must be booked a minimum of 5 days in advance.
Game drives
Game drives on our reserve can be pre-booked and are an additional cost per person including refreshments. We will also be delighted to arrange for day trips to the nearby Kruger Park with a reputable local guide. TIMES: Summer AM (06:30-08:30) PM (16:30 – 18:30) | Winter AM (07:00 – 09:00) PM (16:00 – 18:00)
Shopping
Both Hoedspruit and Phalaborwa have a number of excellent and well-stocked supermarkets and Samey’s Viva Garage diagonally opposite the entrance to the reserve has a not-to-be-missed butchery along with a range of essential goods as well as a good choice of wine, beer and spirits. Hoedspruit also has the added advantage of a first-rate vegan food shop, several pharmacies, and a number of quaint local shops offering everything from curios to beautiful linen wear.
